Flow over a backward facing step
AIM:
To run stimulation for backward facing step with different mesh size and analyse the results by comapring with each other.
OBJECTIVES:
The backward facing step is an interesting case where the flow is subjected to a sudden increase of cross sectional area, resulting in a seperation of flow starting at the point of expansion. The fully developed channel flow enters at the domain from the left. When the flow reaches the step, it detaches and recirculation zone is formed behind the step. Because of the expansion of the channel, the flow slows down and reattaches.
