Final Project: Electric Rickshaw modelling
Objective: To create a MATLAB model of an Electric Rickshaw (three wheel passenger vehicle) for three standard driving cycles.
Description: The figure below shows the MATLAB model of the electric rickshaw with three different drive cycles

FTP75, Wide Open Throttle and a constant speed signal of 45km/hr are the speed reference inputs given to the system. The Longitudinal driver block compares the speed reference with the actual vehicle speed and gives the acceleration and deceleration command. These commands are given to the motor drive controller.
The motor drive controller block is shown below. The H-bridge drive controller is used which is driven by the controlled PWM voltage block. The temperature of the motor driver controller is sensed using a temperature sensor.

The battery input is given through the motor drive controller.

The Output of the motor drive controller is given to the motor block which consists of the Permanent Magnet DC motor with a temperature sensor.

The motor is then connected to the vehicle body via a simple gear system. The vehicle body uses three tyres to represent the E-Rickshaw.

Output and Discussion:
The output for the drive source of FTP75 is shown below. The blue line indicates the Speed reference and the red line indicates the vehicle speed. The vehicle speed matches the speed reference.

The output for the drive source of Wide Open Throttle is shown below. The orange line indicates the full throttle and the purple line is the vehicle speed. The vehicle takes around 7 seconds to reach the full throttle.

The output for the speed reference of 45km/hr is shown below. The vehicle speed exactly matches the reference speed of 45km/hr for around 100 km

The distance is calculated for the constant speed of 45km/hr from the vehicle speed by integrating it and dividing it with a constant of 3600.
The distance is found to be 100 km.

The output of the temperature sensor from motor controller:

The output of the temperature sensor from the motor

The temperature seems to rise steadily for both the motor drive controller and the motor.
