Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
INTRODUCTION:-
The fender wheel arch is basically semi circular part postioned and it is made up of rubber and plastic that can be installed on the front fender
The fender can prevent your vehicle from collisions to make your car more stylish.and it will be more effectivly protect our vehicle from scratches &abrasion.
SIGNIFICANCE OF FENDER WHEEL ARCH DESIGN:-
When road has a flat surface the clearence "a" value is to be decreased because there is no unexpected contact of the fender on the wheel
The wheel arch fender design structure should be mounted outside the face of the wheel to protect the pedestrain and unwanted particles thrown to the engine compartment
WHEEL ARCH DESIGN:-
there are certain standards to design the wheel arch of the fender based in the global locations like
JAPAN REGULATIONS,EUROPE REGULATIONS,US REGULATIONS.
Japan Regulations:-

=> Measure celarence L of the tyre, hub, cap,&fender in 3different postions with in area K and produce clearence part to validate
=>clearence must be greterthan 5mm in all three postions
=> wheel gaurd requirements are the value of A shall be more than 5mm at line 30 forward and 50 rearward from the central vertical axis of the wheel.
European Regulations:-

=> measure clearence L at sections SA-SA,SB-SB,SC-SC,SD-SD,SE-SE and produce a clearence check chart to validate.
=> All 5 sections clearence L value should be greaterthan 10mm and satisfy the European regulations
=> Wheel gaurd requirements are the "a" value should be morethan 5mm at line 30 forward and 50 rearword from the central verticle axis of the wheel
US Regulations:-

=> Make clearence check details on all positions from -100 to 100
=> All values should be greaterthan 5mm to satisfy the regulations
MEASURE THE WHEEL ARCH CLEARANCE PROCEDURE:-
=> As this challange given data is wheel and fender ,sketch the lines by selecting plane option as wheel end surface
=> Draw lines from the centre of the wheel at 90 degrees and name is SA.from a 90 degree line draw lines within 50 degrees(SC) and 30 degrees (SB)
=> Draw a line with a distance of 150 mm from the 0 degree line
=> connect the centre of the wheel to that to that point and name it SE
=> By dividing the SC and SE lines draw a line from the centre of the wheel to the outer portion of the fender.
=> Using the analysis tool measure all the distances.
=> From the observations SA= 10mm, SB=9.94mm SC=0.1139mm ,SD=2.887mm ,SE=5.997mm.
MEASUREMENT OF "L" CLEARENCE:-

TABULAR COLOUMN OBSERVATION FOR "L" CLEARENCE:-
| SECTION | CLEARENCE MEASURED (L=MM) | STATUS |
| SA-SA | 10 | PASS |
| SB-SB | 9.95 | PASS |
| SC-SC | 0.1139 | FAIL |
| SD-SD | -2.887 | FAIL |
| SE-SE |
-5.997 |
FAIL |
According to european standard regulations, the "L" value clearence should be greater than 10mm
MEASUREMENT OF "a" CLEARENCE:-

TABULAR COLOUMN OBSERVATION FOR "a" CLEARENCE :-
| SECTION | CLEARENCE "a" MEASURED(MM) | STATUS |
| SB-SB | 49.64 | PASS |
| SC-SC | 43.35 | PASS |
According to European standard regulations, the "a" value is clearence should be greater than 5mm.
CONCLUTION:-
from the above "a" clearence tabular coloumn observation,it reach the European standard regulations
