Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
OBJECTIVE
Calculate the Wheel Arc area and prove whether the car will pass the standards or Not.
WHEEL ARC :- Wheel arc isa semi-circular part positioned above the wheel of a vehicle.It serves for the safety of pedestrians as well.Another function of the wheel arc is to protect the car from the sticky materials and avoid throwing away of unwanted materials that can carry from the road by the tire.
TYPES OF WHEEL ARC REGULATIONS
- JAPANESE REGULATIONS
The clearence must be greater than 5 mm(L). Only two angles are considered.
2.EUROPEAN REGULATIONS
For all the 5 sections the clearence must be greater or equal to 10mm.
3.US STANDARDS
All the section here must satisfy a clearence of 5mm.
CALCULATE THE WHEELARC USING EUROPEAN STANDARDS
To satisfy the european regulations the all sections should have a clearence of 10mm.The value of L should be more4 than 5mm at a line 30 ° forward and 50° rearward from the central axis of the wheel.
