Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

It is necessary for wheel arc calculation for fender design to pass for given road conditions.

According to the European standard, the distance between the outer edge of the tire and the surface of the fender should be more than 10 mm for 30 ° at forward and 50 ° at backward as shown in Figure.

The figure illustrates the dimensions plotted in the given 3D model and dimensions are plotted with the outer surface of the tyre as a reference

In order to investigate the distance between the outer surface of the tire to the surface of the fender, a law extension was used with the dimensions 10 mm as shown in the Figure and measured results are provided in the table.

From the result, it is understood that given fender design was not up to the European standard and it is necessary to redesign the fender
