European regulation requirement

This is a regulation followed as per the European standard to prevent the stones and mud to hit the pedestrian (accidentally) which is the major purpose of the front fender

Standards are followed by an OEM to achieve its requirement (for ex. regulation) if the design is unable to achieve it won’t cause a problem in car sales

Regulations are the required standards that the cars should satisfy it for launching of the product (car) on the market

European regulation requirement for front fender

The design should satisfy the required clearance L mentioned in the picture, there are five-section line(or planes) as the requirement of 30° on front and 50°of back of centre vertex section SB and SC respectively according to that SD and SE are placed along with the reference mentioned in the figure:

These are values L measured in the design SB is the only value that satisfies the requirement so this design won't satisfy the European regulation requirement
