Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

Fender wheel arc:- It is gap measurement of dimension between fender and wheel and for there it has three regulations.

Types of regulation:-

1. Japan regulation
2. European regulation
3. US regulation

• For our measurement we have to take european regulations and it has some criteria which are below.

European regulation:-

• Dimension between wheel diameter maximum point to fender inner point should be greater than 10mm and below picture we can understand which point.

• Then dimesion between wheel outer face and fender outer face should be greater than 5mm and fender must be outside to the wheel face like shown in below picture.

Conclusion:-

• For finding the dimension we have to find the different point on fender and wheel and it should be as per european regulation, if it's not then design is wrong. and below see the dimensions.

First Measurement criteria:-

(1) SA to sa = 27.8310mm > 10mm

(2) SB to sb = 50.0742mm > 10mm

(3) SC to sc = 38.3599mm > 10mm

(4) SD to sd = 42.7600mm > 10mm

(5) SE to se = 48.0012mm > 10mm

Secont measurement criteria:-

(1) SA point 9.9490mm > 5mm

(2) SB point 10mm > 5mm

(3) SC point 0.1139mm < 5mm

(4) SD point -2.8875mm < 5mm

(5) SE point -5.9973mm < 5mm

• As you can see in below picture two point of wheel is outside of fender face/point

Conclusion:- As we can see all dimensions are having as per we require but three dimensions are not so just beacuse of that it has failed according to european regulation, so this design is wrong and for changes we need to return to design team for modifications .
