Fender Design Challenge
FENDER:
A fender is a part of an automobile, motorcycle, or other vehicle body that frames a wheel well. Its primary purpose is to protect the engine and to prevent sand, rock, and other particles from flying out while the vehicle is moving Which might cause harm to the surroundings and pedestrians. While fenders are designed specific regulations are followed to get an acceptance from the government which regard to pedestrian safety. Two of such regulations are European regulations and Japanese regulations.

Mounts:
A Fender is attached to the main body with the help of mounts that are present on the fender. Sill, Bumper, Baffle, and A-Pillar mount are the types of mounting present on the Fender, Each mount is designed differently based on the position, attaching mechanism, and also based on other components near the fender. Fasteners are used to secure the fender onto the body of the vehicle. Since most of the mounting points are covered by other body parts, fasteners won't affect the appearance of the vehicle. Full bumper type and half bumper type are the types of fenders. Materials used in fenders greatly depend on the material used in the body of the vehicle. Cost and target customers also affect the choice of material. Fenders are usually manufactured by methods like bending, curling, stamping, hydroforming, and so on.

In conclusion, we designed the fender from the skin data with different mounts and learned the factors that affect the design of the fender.
