Fender Design Challenge
Aim :
To Design the fender according to the give design parameters related to industry standards.
Fender :

The fender is the curved part of the car’s body that sits on top of the wheels and holds them in place. It is not only a safety component but also enhances the overall look of your vehicle. Its primary function is to shield and protect the passenger compartments by preventing sand, mud, rocks, liquids, and other roads spray from being thrown into the air by the rotating tire
TYPES OF FENDER :
- Full Bumper type.
- Half Bumper type.
Mounting :
- Bumper
- Drip
- A Pillar
- Sill
- Cowl

Follow the given Master section to create the Drip Area :
DESING OF DRIP AREA AND MOUNTING AREA :

it is the important mouting of the fender connected withe the engine compartment. Design while designing the fender the drip area we have to initially leave 200-300 mm for cowl top . For placing the headlamp we to leave at least 150mm at the front while designing. Two darts are added to the longer side of the drip area in order to provide stiffness and strength to the part. This helps the fender to not to vibrate and impact the forces outside of the fender during the motion of the vehicle. Embossing are provided on the mounting to strengthen then fastening.
DESING OF SILL MOUNTING AREA :

Sill is the panel directly below the bottom of the door supporting the floor and may be used to combine the floor and the body. The bottom end of the fender is mounted on the sill body for reinforcement of the fender panel.
DESING OF BUMPER MOUNTING AREA :

Bumper mounting area is fix the plastic bumper to the fender with the help of the fasteners.
DESING OF A PILLER AND MOUNTING AREA :

The A- pillar is the structural pillar thet combines the body to the roof this make the sides of the windshield rest front fender are fastened to the A-pillar to form a robust structure.
DESING OF BAFFLE MOUNTING AREA :

Baffle mounting or mudguard are clip fit type of mounting on the inside of the fender arch over the tyre. it protects the car engine compartment and pedestrians from causing injuries from chip outdebris on the road .
