Fender Design Challenge
Front Fender sheet metal part that covers the engine room from sand, stones, and dust picked by tires while driving. It also gives an aesthetic look and character to the car and styling lines are used in the fender.
The baffle is the plastic part attached to the fender and engine room. Fenders are mounted by fasteners as these mounting areas are not visible and do not affect the look of the vehicle.

Mounting points in Fender are
- Drip area mounting, mounted on the engine compartment, has design considerations as given below.

- A pillar mounting
- bumper mounting
- sill mounting, and
- baffle mounting.
Other than drip mounting, all other mounting points do not have any design parameters and they are created using locations of other parts.
Wheel arc design considerations,
Every country have their own standards on vehicle design, wheel arc have design parameters to be followed while designing,
Some standards are,

Drip Area Mounting With Ribs:

Drip area mounting is fastened inside the engine room and can be accessed by opening the hood, the above drip area is designed as per the design requirements, accounting for the space for headlamps and cowl part. Ribs are included to increase the stiffness of the mounting point and also to reduce the spring-back effect.
Bumper Mounting Point:

These points are used for mounting the fender with the front bumper
A-Pillar Mounting:
Front Fender is mounted with A-pillar covered by OVRMs.

Other mounting points are at the bottom called sill mounting

The baffle is the plastic part that covers tires and is fastened with the fender and engine room.
