Fender Design
Aim and Objective:
To create a Fender design with the given master section for the drip area and create mounts points as per the industrials standards.
Fenders:
Fenders are the aesthetic feature that we see on the front side of the car over the wheel area. The purpose of fenders is to protect the engine compartment form side impact and prevents debris from entering the engine compartment. While designing the fender aspects like wheel arc area, pedestrian safety, drip mounting, A piler mount, sill mount, bumper mount etc.
There are two types of fenders - 1. Full fender 2. Half fender
Master Section:

Fender Design
Drip Mounting Area:
- Drip Area is where the fender is mounted with the engine compartment.
- For the design of the drip area, from the master section we can observe that a clearance of 150 mm has to be given from the head light and a clearance less than 300 has to be given from the A- Piler.
- The Depth of the drip mount is defined to be less than 40 mm, it would be difficult for tool workability, if depth is more than 40 mm.

Sill Mount Area:
Sill mount is the panel where the fender is attached with the body of the car bellow the floor. The sill mount is used to provide additional support for the fenders.

A - Piler Mount:
The A piler is the support that connects the roof and the body. The front fenders are fastened to the A piler for rigid structural strength.
Bumper Mount:
Bumper mounts are provided to mount the bumper with the fender. The fender that we have created is a half fender, hence it consists of a bumper mount.
Baffle Mount:
Baffle is a plastic trim that is mounted on the fender inside the wheel arc area fastened with the help of plastic push in clips. the baffle provides protection to the engine from the debris and mud that is scattered from the tires.

Thickened Part:
Before Thickening the surfaces, surface irregularities and fillet are checked and rectified, if any irregularities problems might arise while using the thicken command.
The final sewed surface is then thickened for a thickness of 0.75mm.
