Fender Design
FENDER DESIGN :
Fender is designed in such a way that it sholud provide maximum gap for off roading car and minimum gap for the racing car so that for offroading car the distance the stones can eaily pass out of the tyres and for racing cars on the track there are no stones and mud particles by reducing the distance between the tyre and fender the speed can be increased in case of offroading the car is designed with stand dirty and steppy stones areas.
Design Parameters :
1.The fender should be designed and length is taken from the length of the clove part
2.For the top end cars the side indicator will be merged in the side mirrors itself in the low and mid end cars the side indicators are given in the fender, two types of data needed to be stored for designing the fender.
3.The fender size and types are designed based on the car requriement like full fender or half fender
4.The evolutions of these fender came from typical retro look to full fender to hlaf fender.
5.For desigining the drip area for all the cars the design considerations and the material usage is almost ,the space requried for the drip area is designed upto the cowl top means(means the plastic part below the side mirror mounting region)
6.For Indian additional of baffle is added to the fender for imroving the NVH levels for the the diesel vehicles to reduce the vibrations in the car, this baffle is present is some cars and not present is some other cars.
7.The fender should be designed such that the maximum forces should dissipitate the forces outside of the car in case of any crash,in case of frontal crash and also for the side crash at an offset of 30mm the fender should be designed to dissipitate the force outwards so that the maximum safety should be given to passengers.
The primary purpose of these fenders is to prevent swrilings of rocks and mud when when the car is running the wheel takes the mud and sand particles and hurl them in all directions and these will cause injuries to the pedestrains that is why fenders are designed to prevent injuries.
The secondary purpose is that the sand and mud particles also causes damage to the interior parts and to the engine compartment it avoids hitting these parts.
