Fender Design
REPORT - FENDER DESIGN
OBJECTIVE - Design a Fender Model with the necessary mounting with a given class A surafce.
FENDER -

Fender is part of an automobile (vehicle body)that frames a wheel well.its primary purpose is to to prevent sand, mud, rocks, liquid, and other road spray from being throw into air by the rotating tire.Fenders are typically rigid and can be damaged by contact with the road surface. A fender is the part of a car that protects and frames its wheels and keeps mud from splashing it.
There are two types of Fender:
a)Full bumper type.
b)Half bumper type.

Fender is mounted basically on 5 important regions. They are
- Drip Area Mounting.
- A-Pillar Mounting.
- Sill Mounting.
- Bumper Mounting.
- Baffle Mounting.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY :
MASTER SECTION:
This is my master section help to make this design.

1.Design of Drip mounting area:
1st we make a drip mounting area in this dsign. It is connected with the engine compartment , therefore the lot of design constraints are to be followed while designing the fender.
- The drip area should be designed in such a way that it should be at least 150mm away from the front end of the fender to have sufficient space for mounting headlamps housing.
- Mostly the drip area starts from 200mm away from the rear end of the fender, to have sufficient space for the cowl which carries the wiper equipment.
- The length of the drip area depends on the length of the fender.

this is figure of making drip mounting.
2.A-Pillar Mounting.
- This mounting position is created for attaching the fender to A Pillar of the vehicle.
- The A -pillar is the structural pillar that combines the body to the roof .
- Enough clearance should be given for the easy mounting of the wiper equipment.

3. Sill Mounting: Sill mounting is the panel of directly bottom portion of the door supporting the floor and connected to floor and body. M5 fasteners are used to fix the fenders on the sill body.

4. Bumper Mounting: Bumper mounting is a connected to the bumper of the fender. It should have enough strength to hold the bumper steadily.

5. Baffle Mounting: Baffle mounting is a mudguard of engine compartment. it protects the car engine compartment and pedestrians from causing injuries from chip out debris on the road when the car is in motion . they are mounted on the fender using a special type of locking clips which are made up of plastics .

Fig: Baffle mounting.
After all mounting part make it we apply of thickness to the surface.
The thickness of 0.75 mm inward on the final sewed surface of the fender to the sheet metal parameters.

CONCLUSION
The front fender is designed according to the given master section and CLASS A Surface as per the OEM Standards.
