What is benchmark?

Benchmark is the systematic comparison of the features or facilities that one will get. Benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products,services or processes on some dimensions of performance. For example, it can be used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and in this form often provides the basis of consumer tests and reviews. These look at products and services and provide recommendations based on which is best or some form of ranking amongst competitors.

The benchmarks that we are going to look here for the selection are as follow:

So above mentioned features are benchmarks that we’ll be looking for the in the cars with their specific criteria which is considered good in the terms of their relation. Say a 5-star safety feature car will much more desirable than the 3-star or lower versions of it.

Maruti Suzuki-Ertiga

The price of Maruti Ertiga starts at Rs. 8.35 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 12.79 Lakh. Maruti Ertiga is offered in 9 variants - the base model of Ertiga is LXI and the top variant Maruti Ertiga ZXI Plus AT which comes at a price tag of Rs. 12.79 Lakh. Ertiga has a boot space 209 liters. The new Ertiga wears a relatively premium look. Of more interest to typical buyers, however, is the cabin which scores really well on space with fair seating even for the third row of passengers. Sliding middle-row seats and folding third-row seats also add flexibility to the cabin. Mahindra XUV300 is offered in 16 variants - the base model of XUV300 is W4 and the top variant Mahindra XUV300 W8 AMT Option Diesel Dual Tone which comes at a price tag of Rs. 14.07 Lakh. Mahindra xuv300 car is a safe car because it gets first segment features, like 7 airbags, ABS + EBD which is standard in the base model as well as in the top model, it also gets dual climate control which is also a segment first features.

Hyundai-Venue

Venue base model price in diesel is ₹ 10.00 Lakh. Whereas the price of Venue automatic version starts from ₹ 10.00 Lakh. The Venue is a simple and sensible small SUV that has the features and space to pamper a small family. It remains a safe pick in the segment and with its revised looks, will attract more attention as well.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The price of Maruti Baleno starts at Rs. 6.49 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 9.71 Lakh. Maruti Baleno is offered in 7 variants - the base model of Baleno is Sigma and the top variant Maruti Baleno Alpha AMT which comes at a price tag of Rs. 9.71 Lakh.

Maruti Baleno Variants: The premium hatchback can be had in four trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.

Maruti Baleno Engine and Transmission: Propulsion duties are carried out by a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine (90PS/113Nm), paired to a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT. The engine gets idle-start/stop technology replacing the previously offered mild-hybrid tech. The manual has a claimed efficiency of 22.35kmpl, while that of the AMT is 22.94kmpl. An optional CNG kit is set to be introduced soon.

Maruti Baleno Features: The Baleno packs segment-first features like a head-up display and 360-degree camera. Other equipment on offer comprises revised LED projector headlights, an Arkamys-tuned sound system, a reversing camera, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and cruise control. The list further includes auto climate control, push-button start/stop, and keyless entry.

Maruti Baleno Safety: Its safety kit includes up to six airbags, ESP (electronic stability control), hill hold assist, ISOFIX mounts, and ABS with EBD.

Maruti Baleno Rivals: The facelifted Baleno competes with the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Citroen C3, and the facelifted Toyota Glanza.
