Design of backdoor
AIM:- Design and Development of Backdoor which is fisible and manufacturable.
SOFTWARE: NX 12.0
INTRODUCTION:
The back door is a hinged door/tailgate at the rear of the vehicle. It may be used for loading and unloading cargo, or to get passengers in and out, in case there are seats present at the rear. The back door comprises of certain components which form the back door assembly together. The trunk (North American English) or boot (British English) of a car is the vehicle's main storage or cargo compartment, often a hatch at the rear of the vehicle. It is also called a tailgate.A door assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a molded door panel having a first side and a second side. The first side of the door panel is adapted to face towards a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The safely vehicle door opening system is necessary to prevent accidents happening from backside while opening the car door and to provide safety to passengers.
Back Door Assembly:
- Inner panel
- outer panel
- hinge and its reinforcement
- wiper motor reinforcement
- latch & stricker and its reinforcement
- gas stay reinforcement

PROCESSES USED IN MAKING BACK DOOR:-
- Deep Drawing
- Embossing
- Hemming
- Conventional die hemming
- Roll hemming
- Open Hem
- Tear drop Hem
- Closed Hem
- Blanking
- Punching

backdoor designing inputs:-
- Outer Panel - 0.75 mm
- Inner Panel - 0.75 mm
- Reinforcements - 1.5 mm
class a surface:-
this surface is provided for creating inner pannel with refrence to class a surface.
class a should be repaired befor actual working using appropriate commands.
upper panel

lower panel

inner panel
we take offset of 1.7mm

take offset in face as per required

after triming we have required surface

for mastic point offset surface by 4.8mm

take offset in face and trim

.
use trim and extend

use bridge curve and through curve mesh

draw sketch and project for emboss

after associative copy we have our inner panel is done for hemming.

mastic point region. gas stay mounting. hing mounting.

lach and striker. mboss for strengthning of panel.
CREATION OF TOOLING AXSIS:-

upper panel and hemming
take offset and trim bridge curve for swept command using swept command

cornar relief
using curve on surface

lower panel
For hemming.
cut section of hemming

cut section of mastic point.

DRAFT ANALYSIS.
Draft analysis is done w.r.t to tooling direction and draft angle maintained 7 degrees

Conclusion:
we learned about how to design backdoor using class a surface, by keeping and considering all design constrains needed for backdoor as per industry standerds.
