1) BIM is the abbreviation of Building Information Model. It is defined as the concept used in Revit that provide detailed real time information of the model which is drafted in Revit.

Co-ordination - Since a model contains multiple discipline as in Architecture, Construction, Electrical and Mechanical. Here in BIM co-ordination features help to work on these discipline simultaneously in a stipulated time.

Computation-  It helps in creating and providing estimated schedule of the model 

Benefits of BIM over a 2D tools is that

1. It saves time.                                          For example while drafting the plan of a model, a detailed 3D structure is also been created at the same time.
2. Better understanding/ visualisation       As compared to 2D tools BIM provide better visualisation in detail in all the angles.
3. Detailed schedule:                                     BIM also provides schedule of the model. For example quantity, size, etc of the elements.
