Creating Conceptual mass in REVIT and Creation of Sinusoidal curve and a Parametric stadium using Dynamo
1) Using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.
Aim:
Procedure:
Dynamo is a visual programming language.
Manage > Dynamo > New
Dynamo will open
Interface
In the search tab type Integer slider and click that
Take 2 copies of the tab by ctrl +c & ctrl +v

Create Range
Create two numbers of PointByCoordinates
Create CodeBlock. Input as 50
Create math.sin
Create Product
Connections
For connecting the integers create a Range

Now connect the Range to PointByCoordinate X
Connect Range to Math.sin
Connect Range to PointByCoordinates X

Conncect CodeBlock to PointByCoordinate Z
Connect Math.sin to PointByCoordinate Y
Connect Math.sin to Product X
Conncect CodeBlock to Product Y
Connect Product Varient to PointByCoordinate Z
Result:

For Creating Curve
Create NurbsBy Point

Create List Create
Connect for Creating curves PointByCoordinates to NurbsCurve.ByControlPoints
Results:

For creating Surfate type Byloft
Connect List Tto Byloft
Final Result:

2) Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo . Using the tools available in dynamo link the lines to appropriate model elements in Revit by choosing the wall types and wall parameters. Make use of the sliders to slide through the height of the wall and length of the wall.
Aim: To Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo
Procedure:
Create two integer Slider &input the value as 100 in both.
Create PointByCoordinate (x y z) & take 3 copies

Connect IntegerSlider 1 to PointByCoordinate1 X & PointByCoordinate2 Y
Connect IntegerSlider 2 to PointByCoordinate2 X & PointByCoordinate3 Y
So now we created 4 points
For creating the lines, Create line ByStartPointEndPoint & take 4 copies
And connect as follows

Results:

In order to create the complete wall we need to connect with List Create option
Create 3 more items by clicking +
Connect each Line with Items
For Setting the levels
Create levels make it as Level 1

Create Wall Type Slect Wall Type

Create IntegerSlider Choose as 10

Create Wall ByCurveandHeight option
Connect as shown
Results:

For Creating the floor
Create Floor.ByOutlineTypeAndLevel & FloorType

Connections

3) Create an array of model elements in Revit. Use dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block
Aim: To create an array of model elements in Revit
Procedure:
Place 4 columns in the Revit architectute

For rotation the column as 45 degree Create SetRotation & IntegerSlider

For selecting the model elements from Revit Choose Select option from Dynamo then go to Revit select 4 columns
After Selection
Input IntegerSlider as 45( 45 Degree Rotation) &Connect Elements to FamilyInstance & IntegerSlider to degree
Results:

4) Create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling. Use triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column
Aim: To create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling
Procedure:

Create a 3m height level in the elevation in revit
Go to floor plan choose create >model> Spline

Choose Spline option
Draw a 'S' shape and press enter
3D view
Now we need to set the plane ,For that choose Set option, to see the plane choose show option

Choose Circumscribed Polygon and place it at 4 points on S shape as 3m height

To convert the S shape as solid form, create > Select the S shape and one polygon > create form > Solid form

For applying the Triangular Bent
Select the model > Filter> choose only form >ok >divide Surface > from property browser choose pattern choose triangular bent.

5) Use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium. List your parameters and use the visual programming approach to complete the modelling, You can use the concepts discussed in parametric high rise tower in class for reference.
Aim: Using Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium
Procedure:
Create two IntegerSlider Rename and Input

Create CodeBlock

Describe the width &Length of building
Create CoordinateSystem.ByOrigin (x y z)
Connect
Insert IntegerSlider for width and Length

Create RectabgleByWidthLength

Connection
Create New CodeBlock and input (bottom..top..#levels)
Connection
Create a PointByCoordinate and connect
Create Origin , VectorZaxis & Geometry.Rotate

Connection
To make the Surface Create PolySurf and connect to previous One
