Challenge

Creating Bar Bending schedule, Different Door types, and Creation of standard drawing templates using AutoCad

AIM:- To create the templates as shown in Figures. I have taken the size of the title block as per the size of the paper. Also, I use text and attributes wherever required. After creating the title block, I save it as a block with names: Custom1_titleblock and Custom2_titleblock, respectively.

INTRODUCTION:-

To draw the templates according to the provided Figures, I have used several autocad commands like- line,rectangle, extend , Mirror, offset, trim,erase, leader, etc., and I set dimension (Decimal) and select milimeter in Autocad. Moreover, I set limits with command "Limits", specify the left corner points ans right corner points and then enter zoom all("z-a") in this drawing. Also, I used "BLOCK" command to insert table and to make convenience in Autocad. Apart from that, I have assumed several data for drawing this template.

Commands used:-

* Block - To make different elements into a single entity for easiness for work. Command "B" . Block defenition dialogue box apperas .Create a name for block- specify the base point ( any point of the object)- select the object - the blockis created.

- We can pick a point or we can specify on screen or give the coordinates.

- After selecting objects there are options:

- Retain : the object will be retained as it is and block will be craeted.

- Covert to block: the object is convereted into block.

- Delete : The object will be deleted from the screen but block will be craeted , we can insert it whenever needed.

- We can give scale uniformly , so that the block will be scaled in same scale in X and Y.

- If we seelct allow exploding, the block can be exploded when required.

* Insert - To insert a block. Command "I" - we can select the required block created and insert it.

* Rectangle - Command "REC" - clcik on dimension in command propmt and give the width and height.

* Line - Command "L"

* Text - Command "T" - enter the text box , give the height and style , then type the required text.

*Mirror- Command "MI"

* Copy -Command "CO"

* Offset Command "O"

PROCEDURE:-

Open Autocad and type a command "Unit" and press enter, then set unit as Decimal and set angle in degree- base angle is east -mark angle direction as anticlockwise. Type a command "DIMSTYLE" and press enter, then click to modify and go to primary unit tab and set it Decimal and set the precision to 0.0 and cick ok.

DRAWING PROCEDURE FOR Custom 1_ title block:-

a. Custom 1_ title block

* Create a rectangle of size 66.63mm and 158 mm

* Divide it with line for the text box into columns

* For rows, take offset of 5,10,5,5,8,30,15,15,20,20,10,15 mm.

* By multiline text , type rev ,description , by ,date on the first row by text height 2.5 and style - Times New Roman.

* As it is repeated in the other two rows , take array give column as 1 , rowas as 3 ,spacing between rows as 7.

* Again use multiline text and type the required text in caps with text height 1.5 and style as Times New Romans

- Status:

- Title of project :

- Client

- Architect

- Site

- Scale, date ,drawn:,checked:

- Project no: , drawing no: , revision:

- Draw blue lines as shown in given figure, also assign cyan colour to various text as shown in figure.

These are the items we have to provide in the title block.

Creating block :

* Command "B" - block defenition dilaogue box appears- give name as "Custom1_ title block"- select pick point and select a point in the table (corner point)- select the object- select the whole table including the text

* Select convert to block option

* Give scale unifromly and tick allow exploding.

DRAWING PROCEDURE FOR Custom 2_ title block:-

b. Custom2_titleblock

* Draw rectangle of 252 and 46 mm.

* With lines divide the to the required rows and columns.

* With the use of multiline text insert the following: height 2.5

* Create a small rectangle at the right corner , explode it ,create rows and columns.

* Again create a rectangle above that last rectangle and explode it.

* Then "OFFSET" rows and columns accordingly.

* Fill suitable texts as per given data.

Creating block :

* Command "B" - block defenition dilaogue box appears- give name as "Custom2_ title block"- select pick point and select a point in the table (corner point)- select the object- select the whole table including the text

* Select convert to block option

* Give scale unifromly and tick allow exploding.
