Challenge

Creating Architectural and Structural model with 3D rendering using REVIT

Aim:- Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below:
a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
b. Office Buildings
c. School

Procedure:-

Here i am going to select office building

Result:- well understood to select the type of stucture

Aim:- Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling requirements from NBC

Procedure:-

1) the open space around the building shall not be less than 4.5m

2) the type of construction as type two construction the FAR value for the business building shall be take as 2.9

3) the plot size is take as 40m x 70m i.e 2800m2 and individual floor area is 2000 m2 Hence FAR value obtained is 2.14 which is within the prescribed limit as per NBC

4) the width of the road abutting the building is taken as 9m

Result:- well understood to Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for selected project modeling

Aim:- Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
b. Columns
c. Beams Connected to Columns
d. Roof Framing/ Truss
e. Floor / Decks
f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs

Procedure:-

a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation

Step 1:- Create level

Step 2:- Create Grid plan on foundation level

Step 3:- click on structure then click on Isolated structural foundation then click on at grid and select all grid and click on tick option our model will be asign foundation

Result:- well understood to assign foundation.

b. Columns

Step 1:- Select Ground floor plan

Step 2:- click on structure

Step 3:- click on column

Step 4:- click on at grid

Step 5:- select all grid and click on tick option our model will be asign column

Step 5:- extend column up to the roof level

Result:- well understood to assign column.

c. Beams Connected to Columns

Step 1:- Select Ground floor plan

Step 2:- click on structure

Step 3:- click on beam

Step 4:- click on at grid

Step 5:- select all grid and click on tick option our model will be asign Beam

Step 5:- Repet all above step up to roof level

Result:- well understood to assign Beam.

e. Floor / Decks

Step 1:- Select Ground floor plan

Step 2:- click on structure/architecture

Step 3:- click on floor architecture

Step 4:- create rectangle where we want to create floor.

Step 5:- click on tick option our model will be asign floor

Step 5:- Repet all above step up to roof level

Result:- well understood to assign floor.

f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs

Step 1:- Select Ground floor plan

Step 2:- click on architecture

Step 3:- click on shaft

Step 4:- create rectangle where we want to create floor opening .

Step 5:- click on tick option our model will be asign floor opening

Step 5:- extened up to the roof level

Result:- well understood to assign floor opening.

4) Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
c. Interior partition walls to size rooms
d. Components to add details to a room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)
e. Add components such as stairs Elevators
f. Have at-least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels
g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model

Procedure:-

Step 1:- Created Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing

Step 2:- created Exterior façade with fancy finish

Step 3:- crated Interior partition walls to size rooms

Step 4:-Components to add details to a room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)

Step 5:- Have at-least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels
Step 6:- Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
Step 7:- Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model

Result:- well understood to Created Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing,Exterior façade with fancy finish Interior partition walls to size rooms, Components to add details to a room, Add components such as stairs Elevators, Have at-least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels, Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures, Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model.

5) Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
a. Floor Plans with Annotations
b. Elevations
c. Sections

Procedure:-

step 1:- under vew tab create sheet

Step 2:- add view as per requirement

Result:- well understood to Create sheet

6) Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets
a. Rendering from interior rooms
b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
c. Rendering through structural framing

Procedure:-

Step 1:- select 3 d view.

Step 2:- select render option under view.

Step 3:- make changes in seting as per requirement

Step 4:- render view

Result:- well understood to Rendering
