Creating 3D Isometric view of various structural elements in AutoCAD

AIM 1. Create a 3D Isometric View of the building with plan and elevation given.

INTRODUCTION :

To draw the above plan, elevation these are the following commands are used:

  • Line
  • Rectangle
  • Polygon
  • Circle
  • Trim
  • Mirror
  • Offset
  • Array
  • Rotate
  • Move
  • Erase
  • Dimension
  • Text
  • Fillet

Procedure :

  • open the auto cad as imperical
  • then go for 3d modeliing from workspace switching oprtion
  • then go for plan command and go with top view
  • and set unit as engineering for feet inch

  • draw a plan using line & rectangle command
  • first we go for rectangle command from command box
  • then specify first point and draw rectangle of size 10'9" by 10'9"
  • then by using OFFSET command take offset of 9" from two side of wall
  • then by using LINE command we create or draw a window of size 3" for section A at a distance of 3'6" from right side of plan
  • then same by using line command we draw a window of size 3'2" from 4'2" of right side of section B
  • show panel of window at mid of window using line command
  • then draw 6" top slab and 4" bottom style or flooring to plan

  • make the plan 3D
  • make a plan 3D by using XTRUDE command
  • and make a elevation 1 and elevation 2 as per given size
  • for 1st elevation A
  • subtract window part from wall by using subtract botton or command
  • then by setting the UCS draw a rectangle using REC command on window face extrude it of 9" as wall thickness
  • and offset it by offseting command @3",4" respectively then draw lock pannel or handle at height of 1'9" from sill level

  • annotation by using DIM command or from annotation take dimension command
  • and from choose linear set primery unit as engineering
  • and fit of 20 unit with precious 0.0 and shows all linear dimension
  • and then go for text command from annotation bar
  • and set the setting with format as ariel and give required text

  • draw elevation at B
  • go to section B side from navigation bar

RESULT :

The given 3d isometric view of the building with plan and elevation is drawn successfully in the autocad in detailed manner

AIM 2. Create the 3D View of the Building Façade as given in the plan and elevation. Also, see the detail of the window.

INTRODUCTION :

These are the following commands are used:

  • Line
  • Rectangle
  • Polygon
  • Circle
  • Trim
  • Mirror
  • Offset
  • Array
  • Rotate
  • Move
  • Erase
  • Dimension
  • Text
  • Fillet

Procedure :

  • First we have to open the autocad and the set the maximum limit and minimum limit on the screen.
  • Here first have to draw the rectangle using the rectangle command, as shown in the figure.
  • Next we have to draw the window of size of 3' x 9"

  • Next we use the region command and select the objects, then press enter.
  • Then after total objects will become the one region.
  • Next we need to extrude the plan using the extrude command, with the height of 40'-10".
  • Next we need to substract the four window portion vertically in a building facade with the distance 5'-11" with the window size of 3' x 4'
  • Next we use the union command and press enter.
  • Then after select the total drawing and press enter.
  • Next the window portion
  • Now provide the layers for the building facade of skyblue colour, as shown in the below figure.
  • Next we close the top surface of the building facade using the extrude command as shown in the below figure
  • We draw the this window using the line command and extruded using the extrude command.
  • Next we use 3dorbit command to view the front elevation as shown in the below figure.
  • Now put the building facade in the 3d isometric view using the 3dorbit command as shown in the below figure.

RESULT :

AIM 3. Create the ismoteric 3d view of a stair with railing as shown in the plan and elevation. Assume the size of the balustrades and the hand rails.

INTRODUCTION :

These are the following commands are used:

  • 3D
  • Line
  • Rectangle
  • Polygon
  • Circle
  • Trim
  • Mirror
  • Offset
  • Array
  • Rotate
  • Move
  • Erase
  • Dimension
  • Text
  • Fillet

Procedure :

  • First we open the autocad and set the maximum limit and minimum limit.
  • Next we set the units as architectural and take the precison as 0'-0".
  • Next we draw the stairs using the line command.
  • We draw the stairs with the riser of 6" and tread of 1' as shown in the below figure.

  • Next we use the 3drotate to rotate the figure from the first step
  • Next we use the extrude command to extrude the rotated figure to form the stair in 3d view.

  • Next we draw the railing using the circle command and sweep command.
  • Next we show the stairs in the side view using the 3drotate command as shown in the below figure.
  • Now put the stair in the 3d isometric view using the 3dorbit command as shown in the below figure

RESULT :

AIM 4 : Create the 3D view of a Wall with spread footing . Create the Door opening only. Assume the size of the parpaet and the coping. See the plans and elevation for the details. Also, create a rendered view of the model with materials as of your choice.

INTRODUCTION :

These are the following commands are used:

  • 3D
  • Line
  • Rectangle
  • Polygon
  • Circle
  • Trim
  • Mirror
  • Offset
  • Array
  • Rotate
  • Move
  • Erase
  • Dimension
  • Text
  • Fillet
  • 3Dface
  • 3Dorbit
  • Hide
  • Explode
  • Solidedit
  • Union
  • Boundary
  • 3Dmirror
  • 3Drotate
  • Erase
  • Plan

PROCEDURE :

  • First we open the autocad and set the maximum limit and minimum limit.
  • Next we set the units as decimal and take the precision as 0.
  • Next we have to draw plan of wall with spread footing with given dimensions as shown in the below figure.

  • Next we draw the 3d isometric view of the wall with spread footing using the extrude command as shown in the below figure.
  • Next provide the layers for the wall with spread footing with different colours for different parts, as shown in the below figure.
  • Now we have render this figure.
  • For this, go to visualise tab of the ribbon and in that choose render to size option and in that choose high quality rendering. Hence, rendering is done.
  • The rendered image obtained is:
