1) WHAT IS BENCHMARKING :

Benchmarking is the study or comparision between similar products, services which are available in the market. Benchmarking gives the required insights of how to understand the organization comparing with similar other organizations. This provides ranking among competitors based on their performance, consumer tests and reviews. Every company makes a benchmarking report at the early stages of predesign and development, this report includes additional features which are going to provide apart from existing features in their products to boost their sales among the competitors.

Benchmarking process :

• It's between similar processes in the same factory or service branch.
• It's between different factories or service branches.
• It's between the competing organizations.
• It's between the sectors using the same process.

Benchmarking procedure :

• The initial process is to have a list of all the products which are comparing with all the required criteria's.
• Each product is studied individually with its specification, advantages and disadvantages, so that we could able to identify the positive and negative things of each product.
• Final part is good enough eompared with others in the benchmark with the suitable reasons.

2) SUGGESTION TO Mr. D.S. PUGHAZHYENDHII :

Conditions :

• First thing to notice is budget between 8 to 10 lakhs.
• The car should be suitable for long travel as well as daily commuter.
• He is fond of big cars and has 5 membors in his family.
• The main thing is mileage.

• Maruti suzuki vitara breeza.
• Kia sonet.
• Hyundai venue.
• Mahindra XUV300.

TATA NEXON :

• Max power of 108.5Bhp.
• Max torque of 260Nm.
• Average Mileage of 19Kmpl.
• Pricing range of 7.29 to 13.24 lakhs.

Pros :

• 5 star NCAP rating.
• More ground clearance.
• Strong body for safety.
• very well built quality in its segmet.

Cons :

• Rear seats are narrow and small.
• Rear legroom is bit small.
• Automatic transmission in a AMT.

VITARA BREZZA :

Key features :

• 4 cylinder 1.5L engine.
• Max power of 103 BHP.
• Max torque of 138 Nm.
• Average mileage of 18.7 Kmpl.
• Price ranges from 7.39 lakhs to 11.40 lakhs.

Pros :

• Low maintenance.
• Smooth after service.
• Smooth automatic gearbox.

Cons :

• No diesel variant.
• Does not respond to throtle immediately.
• Interior plastic quality.
• Lack of features.

KIA SONET :

• Top variants are very over priced.
• Some of the main features are missing.

• This a small car when compared to its competitors.
• Stiff ride quality.
• build quality can be increased.
• Not stable at high speeds.

MAHINDRA XUV300 :

• Max torque of 200 Nm.
• Average mileage of 17 Kmpl.
• Price ranges from 8.97 lakhs to 16.1 lakhs.

Pros :

• Powerful diesel engine.
• AMT is best in its class.
• Comfortable ride quality.

cons :

• Top end variant is very over priced at this segment.
• Interiors is not that fit and finish.
• Rear Leg room is inadequote.

CONCLUSION :

This that i have considered are...

• Safety rating.
• Mileage.
• Pricing range.
• Interior and their features.
• Ride quality.

I would prefer a car which has good safety nd NCAP ratings. I would rather consider the mileage in the seond. After comparision of various cars in the segment. I would prefer " TATA NEXON " for the above overall reasons.
