Benchmarking
BENCHMARKING
Benchmarking is a process used to compare a product with a similar one having an intention to develop or innovate the product in such a manner where it will be giving a good output than it's predecessor. It is also done by comparing one's own product to their competitor's product which tells us where it performs well and the extra features where we can improvise the product to its fullest potential. Here we are going to benchmark on 3-5 cars comparing it specifications, features, advantages as well as disadvantages from where we are about to pick one.
Input:
Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once in a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him with options so that he will buy a good car for his family.
According to the input factors need to be considered:
- Safety
- Mileage
- Budget
- Comfort
- Bootspace
- SUV (Prefered)
According to the cost(8-10L) my own 4 picks are :
Tata Nexon XM S

Hyundai Venue S
Toyota Glanza G CVT

Honda WR-V

Specifications:
On road price for Nexon,Venue,Glanza and Wr-V respectively,

All 4 cars fall under the budget of 8-10 Lakhs with WR-V being the highest.
Dimensions :

Capacity:

While comparing WR-V has the highest bootspace among the others.
Engine Specs:

While surfing online for the crash report of all the four cars ,According to crash test report:
Tata Nexon - 5
Hyundai Venue - 4
Toyota Glanza - 3
Honda WR-V - 4
With the above stated reports Nexon stands out with 5 out of 5 assuring safety.
Judgement:
According to analysing all the 4 cars I pick Tata Nexon for Pugazhyendhi
Cause:
- The car itself loks very attractive
- As it has a 5 star rating in crash test . This particular aspect is more important than the others as Pugazhyendhi is a family man who also be concentrating on safety ,will be visiting his hometown Madurai once a month with his family.
- It has a spacious cabin and also boot space of 350 litres will be good enough for a family of 5
- Mileage is also not bad where it gives 21.5 Kmpl(ARAI) with being the highest of others.
- 6 speed engine
- It also has a good groud clearance which will be very much suitable for Indian Roads.
- And it also has a decent braking system bringing the vehicle from 100-0 in 41.83m.
Closure:
In a nutshell I would suggest Tata Nexon for Pugazhyendhi as it stands out from the other 3 cars.
