Benchmarking

BENCHMARKING

Benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products, services or processes on some dimensions of performance. It is particularly useful when comparing not only performance but also practice in other words what do the different organizations do to enable that performance to be delivered. And applied in this way it is a powerful tool in process innovation since studying how the ‘best’ achieve their performance can
provide powerful clues for changing the way processes operate. Process
benchmarking of this kind can operate at several levels:
• Between similar processes in the same factory or service branch
• Between different factories or service branches
• Between different competing organizations
• Between different sectors using the same process

As Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii needs a 5 seater, he is also fond of big cars, he need a car for daily commute as well as highway drives and the budget is around 8-10 lacks INR, we prefer looking upon SUV's as they offer better passenger comfort as well as colossal boot space.

So the approach we take is choosing the best car by criteria of price, good performance, decent boot space, good fuel tank capacity and mileage for both city and highway usage.

These are some of the SUV's found for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii.

  • Ford Ecosport
  • Tata Nexon
  • Nissan Magnite
  • Kia Sonet

CONCLUSION:

According to the above observations, I conclude that FORD ECOSPORT would be the best buy for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhi.

  • As we look upon the data we segregated above, Ecosport's engine best in all though the power produced in Nexon is more than Ecosport, the power produced in Ecosport is more than enough for a daily commute and long-distance place hoppings.
  • And next comes the mileage, Ecosport offers nearly 21.7kmpl at highways, which no other car reached at least close to it.
  • The highest fuel tank capacity in the benchmarking process we have undergone above is the Ecosport's tank capacity i.e. 52Lts of a huge tank.
  • Coming to the boot space, The Ecosport (352Lts) has a bit less boot space compared to KIA SONET which has 392Lts. Though it has a bit less boot space, maybe it's not a deal-breaker as it will be an ample amount of space for a 5 person family.
  • ADDITIONAL SAFETY STANDARDS INFORMATION: India-spec EcoSport has not even been sent for a crash test yet. For reference, international-spec Ford EcoSport scored a 4-star rating in Euro-NCAP and NHTSA (USA) crash tests. And no, 4 was not ‘way above 5’. It does have a 5-star rating in Australian-NCAP but we know better not to automatically extend a model’s safety rating to its India-spec version.
