It is nothing but what is already their in the market taking the inputs from the existing components and upgrading them on my component and this bench marking can be of different stages.
For Example :
If a designer is desiging alloy wheels for an X vehicle he needs to analyse what are the best alloy wheel design that are already their in the market and,also need to study the shape and also the material it is made of,with in the given budget and also with in the given size the designer needs to evaluate all the possible parameters for desiging the wheels in this way the bench marking works.
