ABOUT BENCHMARKING -

Benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products, services or processes on some dimensions of performance.

Let's consider below points to suggest a car model in the case of Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii -

1) He live in crowded city, Bangalore.

2) 5 members family including a 5year old boy.

3) He visit his native place Madurai once in month, which is 500km away from Bangalore.

4) He will be using his car to commute to his office.

5) Budget 8 to 10 lakhs on road.

I am taking 4 cars model for Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii to fulfill his requirements.

1) Maruti Suzuki Brezza Lxi.

2) Hyundai Venue E 1.2 Petrol.

3) Tata Nexon XE.

4) Kia Sonet HET 1.2.

EXTERIORS

1) All the model are nearly same in length, but Nexon is wider than the other.

2) Tata Nexon have higher ground clearance 209 than the other.

3) Where as Hyundai Venue has lowest 190 ground clearance.

4) Higher ground clearance for an car, is very heplful on Indian road especially.

5) All the SUVs feature halogen headlamp but only the Tata Nexon is equipped with dual-function daytime running LEDs as well.

6) Tata Nexon being a lot more aggressive in its styling. While Brezza has a more conservative design with boxier silhouette. The Kia Sonet flamboyant styling - great concoction of modern/youtful looks with a rugged stance. The Hyundai Venue, on other hand, does look nicely styled with its traditional proportion with a bold and upright stance.

INTERIORS

1) Inside, the Nexon impress with its flat-bottom steering wheel, glossy panels and the futuristic looking digital instrument cluster.

2) While the cabin of the Tata Nexon features more morden bits like a flat bottom steering wheel and fully digital instrument console, but the quality levels are higher in the Hyundai Venue.

3) In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza puts its focus on space and practicality as it is more spacious than the Nexon with a wider rear seat.

4) Boot capacity in Nexon and Venue is same, more than Brezza. Kia Sonet have higher bootspace capacity than all others.

5) Kia Sonet GT Line interior comes in all black finish with contrasting red stitching. Kia Sonet interiors features is quite same as Tata Nexon.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

1) Tata Nexon gets more powerful 1.2liter turbo petrol unit which devlops 118bhp/170Nm.

2) Maruti Suzuki Brezza has 1.5liter petrol engine which devlops 102bph/137Nm.

3) In fact, the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue which share their powertrains comes with 1.2liter petrol engine which devlops 82bph/114Nm.

4) Higher power usually means a higher top speed as well. But it can also affect on fuel economy.

5) Higher torque means better roll-on acceleration, fewer gear shift and possibly better fule efficiency.

6) The more torque at low RPM range makes the engine feel more responsive. It also allows the engine to run smoothly without too many gear changes.

7) Only Tata Nexon has manual 6 gears, sport mode. All other have manual 5 gears.

8) The Tata Nexon comes with turbocharger, the application of turbocharger provides increasesd air to the engine and enables mixing of fule-air easily in the cumbustion chamber, causing better combustion and lower CO emission values. It increases the output power produced, it gives better fule economy by the way of more power and torque from the same size of engine. High speed obtain. Eco-friendly.

SAFETY

1) Almost all the models have same safety features. Kia Sonet has 4 airbags, rest of all have 2 airbags. Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon have tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

2) Child seat anchor points provided almost all the models except Kia Sonet. It helpes to keep child seat in place, especially during crash.

3) Tata Nexon is the first Indian model to recieve 5Star NCAP Rating for its safety and crash test.

CONCLUSION

1) By the comparison of above 4 model on the basis of exterior, interior, engine and safety, I conclude that the Tata Nexon XE is the best model than the other.

2) Its price is in between the budget of Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii.

3) As far the safety concerns there is no any rival for Tata Nexon. And the safety is the most important point when we choosing any car model. Tata Nexon have 5star GLOBAL NCAP Rating.

4) Tata Nexon provide higher top speed and better fule efficiency, which helped to Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii when he going to his native place which is 500km away from Bangalore.

5) Because of more torque at low rpm, its allows the engine to run smoothly without too many gear changes, is very helpful during the traffic.

6) Tata Nexon also give good mileage.

Overall, I am suggesting the TATA NEXON XE car model for Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii, which will be fulfill his requirements.
