Benchmaking-1 involves define the competitors, price, specifications and features on the segment. where as Benchmarking-2 involves compnetnt wise comparison from the competitor vehicle to reduce weight of the car thereby improving the performace.

in simple words , benchmaring is process of comparison of similar products ,and its oprerations or process and services against the best in the industrys/ market.
