Assignment 5-RADIOSS Interfaces & Study of Effect of Notches Challenge
Objective: Understanding the contact modelling by performing impact analysis on the crash tube.
Procedure:
1)Mesh the given model with appropriate size, in this case the components were meshed with 6mm.
Before proceding make sure the units system is properly given.

2) Assign part to each component individully.
3) Create a property card and material card.
4)In property card use prop/shell keyword, shell formulation- Ishell-24, no.of iteration through the thicknee N=5 and assign thickness as 2mm and 3mm respectively.

5)IN material card, select Law2, and assign the material parameters.

Material properties are with respect to steel.
6)Create a RBody on one end of the crash tube to assign a BC..(i.e a load is appled on the crash tube so that it get crushed with respect to the rigid wall).
USing the 1D panel of the hypermesh, we can create the RBOdy.

As rigid body is not deformable and no material and property are assigned.

7)RBody keyw0rd is aasigned to describe the mass of the acting to the component when the BC is applied.

8)Rigid wall is created at other end of the crash tube.

9)Assign transilational DOF in z-direction for the RBody node to move.So BC keyword is used to activate this property.

10)Velocity is given to the RBody node.

11)Now lets given the interface keywords to the model.
a)Type2 keyword for the spotwelds.
Tied interface: This contact is used to connect fine mesh to a coarse mesh (springs).

b)Type7 interface:General purpose contact.

11)Time history TH keyword to observe the desired results, Rnode,Rwall,Inter.

12)Output requests from the simulation.
a)/ANIM/DT: This keyword asks for frequency at which the output files has to be writen.

b)/RUN/// keyword define the run time of the simulation.

c)/ANIM/NODA/, /ANIM/ELEMENT/, /ANIM/VECT/

comparative study for different cases are present im attached ppt file.
