Assignment 3

AIM:The main aim is Comparison of results with base simulation and improved shell element properties.

OBJECTIVE:

Compared the base results with recomanded properties for 2D shell elements.

Recommended properties:

Parameters

Ishell =24

Ismstr=2

Ish3n=2

N=5

Ithick=1

Iplas=1

PROCEDURE:

  • import the file in radious in hypermesh preprosessor. imported 000file.

FILE > IMPORT > GEOMETRY >SOLVER DESK >IMPORT

  • Change the run time to 55sc
  • Change the number of animation steps to mininimum25
  • than go to run simulation without changing ant priperties
  • go to analysis right click on include collectors given timestep -nt 4 than apply and run the simulation.
  • than will go to hyper view uoplod the h3d file click on apply.

  • Number of animation steps is 300
  • number of animation steps would get to difference between t stop and t start bye frequency(0.1)
  • uplod t001 file in hyper graph
  • than will go go hyper graph acceptable, Plot rigid wall forces, internal energy, hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy of the simulations.

INTERNEL ENERGY

CONTACT ENERGY

acceptable, Plot rigid wall forces, internal energy, hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy of the simulations

  • After will go hypermesh and give the properties of the setup of the shell properties

  • than will run the simulaton
  • simulation run file after assign proerties

  • than will go to hyperview upload h3d file

after assign the properties of pshell elemnts will get number of animationsteps30 freqency wold give 1

after will go to hyper graph

  • uplod t001 file in hyper graph
  • than will go go hyper graph acceptable, Plot rigid wall forces, internal energy, hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy of the simulations.

acceptable, Plot rigid wall forces, internal energy, hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy of the simulations.

hourglass:

hour glass modes are nonphysical modes of deformation that occure in under integrated elements. hour glass energywich work done bye the forcescalculated to resist hour glass modestakes away fromphysical energy of the system
in hourglass method consists of two tpes of contrl methods
1.peturbetion method
2.physical stabilization method
comparison:
comparing the case1 and case 2 simulations hourglass is constant in case 2 cause in case1 properties are not assign p1shell elements .
recomanded properties assigned in case 2 than will control the hour glass in case 2 simulation than comparwe with case1
RESULT:
The recomanded formulations for the propertiesof shell elementsfor crashanalysis are concludedfromthe above eplanation and simulation
