Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
DESIGN OF A METAL BRACKET USING SIEMENS NX CAD
OBJECTIVES
To design a metal bracket in Siemens NX CAD 12.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY

FEATURES USED
- Sketch: Two dimensional drawings to be created with respect to a plane of view.
- Tab: Creates a sheet metal feature with a specified thickness.
- Flange: Creates a flange at an edge at any specified angle.
- Closed Corner: Creates closed corners to make a smooth transition at vertices where multiple sheets meet.
- Hem Flange: Creates a flange that forms a hem shaped bend at an edge.
- Mirror: Mirrors a feature/body across a plane.
- Dimple: Creates a raised dimple feature on a flat surface.
- Unbend: Unbends a formerly created bend or flange.
- Bead: Creates a drawn out shape along a length on a flat feature.
- Re-bend: Re-bends a former unbent operation.
- Break Corner: Creates curves at sharp corners to make a smooth transition.
- Normal Cutout: Creates a cut out normal to the surface. The shape of the cutout can be given with a 2D sketch.
- Flat Pattern: Creates a flattened pattern of the sheet metal part for drafting purposes.
