SHEET METAL BRACKET DESIGN USING SIEMENS NX CAD
Objective
The objective of this project is to design a Sheetmetal Bracket using Siemens NX Sheetmetal Workbench.
Introduction
A bracket is any intermediate component for fixing one part to another, usually larger, part. What makes a bracket a bracket is that it is intermediate between the two and fixes the one to the other. Brackets vary widely in shape, but a prototypical bracket is the L-shaped.
Design Methodology
DESCRIPTION
1. SKETCH
It is the 2D representation of the model with respect to the plane/view.
2. CONTOUR FLANGE
Creates a base feature by extruding a sketch along a vector, or adds material by sweeping a sketch along an edge or chain of edges.
3. NORMAL CUTOUT
It cuts the model perpendicular to the sketch.
4. BREAK CORNER
Rounds or Chamfers a sharp corners of a tab or flange.
5. UNBEND
Flattens a bend and the material adjacent to the bend.
6. BEAD
Lifts material along the contour of a sketch that simulates a stamping tool.
7. REBEND
Restores an unbend feature to its previous bent state, along with any features added after the unbend feature.
8. HOLE
Adds a hole to one or more solid bodies in a part or assembly.

DRAFTING
Drafting is a term that refers to creating technical drawings that communicate how something is constructed or functions.
