Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure

TITLE - ODD SHAPE ENCLOSURE .

OBJECTIVE - To create odd shape enclosure using the sheet metal workbench of NX cad software . 

INTRODUCTION -  Nx cad software is a simple and powerful tool which has wide variety of application in various  industries such as automobile , medical , aircraft etc . using the sheetmetal workbench from nx , we will create the required part 

DESIGN METHODOLOGY - 

1 - Creating extrude and using sheet metal from body command . 

2 - Creating flange and jog . 

3 - Unbending and creating bead . 

4 - Creating holes and dimple .

5 - Creating louver and bead . 

6 - Rebending the part and creating flatpattern view .

DESCRIPTION - 

1 - EXTRUDE - 

This command is used to create a solid part from a given sketch in a particular direction . 

2 - FLANGE - 

This command is used to add a flat flange at an angle to planar face and add a bend between the two . 

3- UNBEND - 

This command is used to unbend the material to create a flat sheet .

 4 - DIMPLE -

This command is used to create an identation in sheetmetal part using sketched section as input for dimple . it can lift the area of model inside a sketch that simulates a stamping tool . 

5 - BEAD - 

This command is a stiffening feature . it stiffens the sheetmetal . it is used to lift the material along contour of sketch that simulates stamping tool . 

6 - REBEND - 

This command is used to bend the sheetmetal part that we had previously bend . 

7 - FLATPATTERN -

This command is used to create the 2D drawing  view of the sheet metal part . 

8 - DRAFTING - 

This command is used to create drafting or detailed drawing of a part.

9 -  SHEETMETAL FROM SOLID -

This command is used to create a sheetmetal part from a solid part . a solid part can be converted into a sheet metal part using this tool . 

10 - JOG - 

This command is used to create a step or a offset in a part. this command only needs a line as a input . 

11 - HOLE - 

This command is used to create holes in a part . it needs points as a input . 

12 - LOUVER - 

This command is used to create a vent in the part by piercing model along sketch line . 

CONCLUSION - 

We have created odd shape enclosure using the sheetmetal workbench in Nx cad .
