Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_1_Casing Design
CASING DESIGN USING NX
Objective:
Using of various sheet metal tools like flanges, tabs, cut-out etc., and understanding the usage of the features addition to the sheet metal for designing the casing and creating a flat pattern using NX sheet metal.
Below tools has been used for obtaining the result:
- Tabs
- Normal cut-out
- Bend and unbend
- Flanges
- Breaking corners
- Holes
- Dimples
- Beads
- Mirrors
- Drafting
Description:
- Initially the sheet metal has been made using the tab with given specifications (60mmx50mmx1mm)
- For making a cut out normal cut out tool has been used and the sheet has been made to bend by 90° by using bend tool
- Flanges has been created by using the flange tool which helps in creating a bend surface and the sharp edges has been removed by using the bend corners option
- Using of hole tool for making holes in required areas of part
- Dimples and beading has been created for giving stiffness and rigidity to the part by stamping up the sheet of required sketch by using dimple and bead tools
- Finally re-bending the part and converting it into the drawing in drafting for obtaining the casing drawing
