3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT

Question-1 Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level

AIM: To model ceiling in above the wall and first floor levels.

INTRODUCTION:

• Ceiling is an overhead interior surface that covers the upper limits of a room
• Ceiling is not generally considered as structural element but a finished surface concealing the underside of the roof structure or floor or story above.
• To model a ceiling, the ceiling tool from architecture tab is used.

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open RVT 2023

step-2: Open previous week saved project file for plot ceiling

step-3: Go to Architecture tab

step-4: Select Ceiling option

step-5: After selecting ceiling option, modify tab will open automatically

step-6: Select sektching ceiling

step-7: Select pickline option from ribbon

step-8: Select all the outer boundary of ground floor wall to plot ceiling

step-9: Click ok button to complete

step-10: Go to property browser and change the materials and thickness as per codal provisions

step-11: In the same way, repeat all steps to provide ceiling for all remaining floors.

RESULT:

Question-2 Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees

AIM: To create roof above the ceiling and roof having slope of 10 degrees.

INTRODUCTION:

• Ceiling is an overhead interior surface that covers the upper limits of a room.
• For modelling the ceiling in the revir software, the ceiling tool from architecture tab is used and roof is modelled by selecting the footprint of the roof as a line on the top of the wall.

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open revit software 

step-2: Open previous week project file

step-3: Go to Architecture tab

step-4: Select ROOF option

step-5: Go to Roof by footprint

step-6: Select Pickline option to select all the boundary wall in the first floor

step-7: Click ok to plot roof 

step-8: Go to unit option to select degree for slope 

step-9: Go to property browser

step-10: Enter 10 degree for slope of the roof

Question-3 Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans

1. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
2. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

AIM: To create architectural and structural plan view

step-2: To create structural plan 

step-3: Go to View

step-4: Select Plan view

step-5: Select structural plan

step-6: Select Ground Floor and First floor and Roof plan to view

step-7: Go to Plan view

step-8: Select Architectural view

step-9: Select all floors.

Question-4 Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file

1. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans
2. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans

AIM: To mark all dimensions in the architectural and structural plan

step-2: Open Existing project file

step-3: Go to Annotate tab

step-4: Select Aligned tool

step-5: Mark all the dimensions on the floor plan

Question-5 Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views

AIM: To create sheet template fro view tab

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open RVT 2023

step-2: Open existing project file

step-3: Go to View tab

step-4: Select Sheet option

step-5: Select the sheet and click open

step-6: Renamed sheet file related to current project information

step-7: Select Architectural floor plan and drag into sheet layout

step-8: Change the scale to plot

Question-6 Using the elevation tab create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West

AIM: To open elevation view and take look from all direction of the building

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open RVT 2023

step-2: Open existing project file

step-3: Go to View tab

step-4: Go to Elevation view

step-5: Plot all directiions

step-6: Go to project browser

step-7: Select the Elevation

step-8: Click East and take screenshot of this view

step-9: Select West view 

step-10:  Select North view

step-11: Select South view

Question-7 Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction

AIM: To cut all the section of the room and craete the views

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open RVT 2023

step-2: Open existing project file

step-3: Go to View tab

step-4: Select Section tab

step-5: Draw section through the Rooms

step-6: Plot the section and take a snap of those

step-7: Renamed it for reference.

Question-8 Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browser

AIM: To classify all the views from project and document it.

PROCEDURE:

step-1: Open RVT 2023

step-2: Open project file

step-3: Open Project browser

step-4: Drag down all the views from menu bar

step-5: take a snap of this

step-6: Document it.

Question-9 Using the sheet template produced create multiple sheets as follows
a. A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
b. A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
c. A 103- Roof Plan
d. S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
e. S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
f. S 103- Roof Framing Plan
g. A-201- North-South Elevations
h. A-202- East-West Elevations

Add additional sheets based on the sections created in your Revit file

AIM: To create all the sheet template for the current project

step-2: Open project file

step-3: Go to VIEW tab

step-4: Select sheet

step-5: Select Sheet template and click ok

step-6: Drag and locate Ground floor architectural plan

step-7: Named as A101 Ground floor architectural plan.

step-8: In the same above way, create another sheet template 

step-9: Locate First floor architectural plan and named as A102 

step-10: Locate Roof plan named as A103

step-11: Locate structural ground floor plan as S101

step-12: Locate structural first floor plan as S102

step-13: Locate structural roof framing plan as S103

step-14: Locate Elevation views -(NORTH-SOUTH)

step-15: Locate Elevation views -(EAST-WEST)

step-16: Locate Sectional views-(Bedroom and other rooms)

step-17: Locate Sectional views- Kitchen & Dining area

Question-10 Create a camera-specific view or a 3D view in each room ( living, dining, bedroom). Based on the views create a new set of sheets starting A-501 (you can add as many sheets after, 502, 503.. n)to place the 3D view images. Produce the sheets as a part of project drafting.
