3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT

3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT

1) Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level

AIM:

To create layout, walls, floors, ceilings, roof, place some components in each rooms, doors and windows in appropriate places, provide annotations, create sheets, sectional views, 3D views, Elevations and plan views. Also, explain the procedure step by step and obtain the result.

INTRODUCTION:

Revit is a BIM (Building Information Modelling) software to drive efficiency and accuracy across the project lifecycle, from conceptual design, visualisation and analysis to fabrication and construction.

Begin modelling in 3D with accuracy and precision.

Automatically update floor plans, elevations and sections as your model develops.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the Revit Software
  • Open the project saved from week 3.
  • To insert a ceiling, go to Architecture tab.
  • Choose the Ceiling icon and a Modify ribbon tab will open.
  • Now, select the Draw or Pick lines option to insert the boundary conditions for the ceiling.
  • After Sketching the boundary lines for the ceiling, close the edit option.
  • Now, the Ceiling is inserted in the drawing.
  • Check the Properties window for the ceiling type and changes can be done in the edit type.
  • The following images shows the Ceiling inserted for the top floor.

RESULT:

2) Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees.

AIM:

To create layout, walls, floors, ceilings, roof, place some components in each rooms, doors and windows in appropriate places, provide annotations, create sheets, sectional views, 3D views, Elevations and plan views. Also, explain the procedure step by step and obtain the result.

Automatically update floor plans, elevations and sections as your model develops.

PROCEDURE:

  • Working on the same drawing and on continuation from the previous question/step, as ceiling is already created from the previous step.
  • In the next step, to create a roof above the ceiling.
  • Go to Architectural tab and select the Roof icon to choose Roof on Footprint.
  • Now, a Modify ribbon tab will open and using Draw or Pick lines option, select the Roof Boundaries to insert the roof in the drawing.
  • After Sketching the boundary lines for the Roof, close the edit option.
  • Now, the Roof is inserted in the drawing.
  • As per the given condition, the slope should be 10 degrees in the Roof.
  • So, type UN (units) command, select the slope option and change the units to degrees.
  • Now, select the Roof created and go to properties browser.
  • Change the slope to 10 degrees as per the condition.
  • The Following images shows the roof inserted in the top floor.

RESULT:

3) Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans

a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

AIM:

To create layout, walls, floors, ceilings, roof, place some components in each rooms, doors and windows in appropriate places, provide annotations, create sheets, sectional views, 3D views, Elevations and plan views. Also, explain the procedure step by step and obtain the result.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the Revit software and open the model house created in the previous challenge.
  • Now, select the first floor plan and choose realistic view.
  • Type VG (visual graphics), set the filter list to Architectural and check all the components.
  • The following image shows Architectural plan for the first floor.

  • Now, to get the Structural plan of the ground floor.
  • Go to View tab and select plan views to choose the structural plan.
  • After choosing it, a dialogue box will open to select the level.
  • Now, select the ground floor in that diagolue box.
  • And, a Ground Floor structural plan will be created.
  • Now, go to VG (visual graphics), uncheck all the components in the strcutural list expect the structural components like walls, floors and columns.
  • The following image shows the Structural plan of the Ground floor.

RESULT:

ARCHITECTURAL PLAN

STRUCTURAL PLAN

4) Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file

a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans

b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans

AIM:

To create layout, walls, floors, ceilings, roof, place some components in each rooms, doors and windows in appropriate places, provide annotations, create sheets, sectional views, 3D views, Elevations and plan views. Also, explain the procedure step by step and obtain the result.
