Top Universities in Canada for Higher Studies

Canada, which makes up the northern part of North America, is well known for its stunning landscapes. Because of its many different cultural communities, Canada serves as a global emblem of optimism and harmony.

The fact that many international students from the most distant regions of the globe attend Canadian colleges and universities to further their education is not surprising. According to a widely used survey, one in three people under 30 worldwide wants to study at universities in Canada.

Top 10 Universities in Canada for Foreign Students

Some of the top universities in the world are found in Canada. In reality, 26 Canadian institutions are ranked among the greatest in the world.

The following list of universities in Canada for Indian and other International Students is based on the QS World University Rankings 2022:

  1. McGill University
  2. University of Toronto
  3. Windsor University
  4. University of British Columbia
  5. Simon Fraser University
  6. University of Alberta
  7. University of Ottawa
  8. Vancouver Community College
  9. Laval University
  10. Mount Royal University

The number of international students has dramatically increased across the board. Regarding the increase in international students, Canada has recently outpaced the other major Western nations.

In 2020, there were 528,190 international students with valid study visas, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The number of overseas students with valid study visas increased considerably from 2021. This does not mean that students with this kind of visa were already present in Canada.

Benefits of Attending Post-Graduate Courses in Canadian Universities

One major factor in Canada's ranking as one of the most developed countries in the world is its ongoing commitment to raising the bar for education there.

Canada's education system has a strong reputation for excellence recognised by companies worldwide and the whole education industry. About 60% of overseas graduates start working in their field of study within six months of graduating from Canadian universities and colleges.

There are enough universities and colleges in Canada to support a student’s domain of interest, regardless of whether they wish to study there for fun or to pursue a professional course related to their academic realm.

The nation offers a variety of higher education programs, including undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and college diplomas.

There are numerous educational institutions in Canada, including business schools, medical schools, law schools, foundation schools, post-secondary institutions, and colleges.

How can You Apply to Canadian Universities?

By taking the methods outlined below, international students can apply for any intake in Canada.

  • Step 1: Learn as much as possible about the universities to which you plan to apply. Know their costs, application deadline, etc.
  • Step 2: Review the criteria for admission for overseas students, which may include language requirements, credit requirements for the course or program you want to apply for, an application letter to the University, etc.
  • Step 3: Submit all necessary paperwork, including a certified copy of your diploma or certificate, an updated CV (if necessary), and language test scores for English or French no older than one year.

Present valid proof of finances demonstrating your ability to sustain yourself and any accompanying immigrants while enrolled in school. Two academic recommendation letters are required if you apply for a PhD or Post-graduate program. You also need previous letters of employment (if applicable).
  • Step 4: You will receive your offer or acceptance letter for admission to Canadian universities after the university has processed your application.

Conclusion

In Canada, 621,565 international students have study permits for different levels of study as of 2021, says the National Statistics Office.

International students must complete high school in their native country to study in Canada. Although English and French are Canada's official languages, most courses and activities are offered in English. Consequently, this sums up a compelling argument in favour of supporting Indian or international students.

At Skill-Lync, we provide mechanical, electrical, civil and biomedical courses to help engineers land their dream jobs. We help Indian and International students to enhance their skills and pursue their careers.
