Three ways to secure funded admit in US

Skill-Lync

Quite simply, you just need to follow three simple steps.

You would have seen stories about our older students like Guru or Raj. They were people to achieved their dreams through hard work. And the fact that you are here, reading this article, indicates that you have similar dreams in you as well. Since there are embers already, we can light the fire up to lead the way to achieve your dreams. All you need is a little kindling in the right direction.

When we were in school, our teachers would always tell us, “work hard now, you can enjoy later”. Many of us misinterpret this sentence and tell ourselves that since we have finished school and are now in college, we can enjoy all we want. But that is where the problem lies. Sure, you can enjoy your grad years, but laying back too much during these years could cripple your chances of establishing your career. Many of us are aware of the struggles involved in job-hunting yet only a few actually do something about it. You must have heard tales of how sometimes even toppers from a top-notch university fail to secure the opportunities that were in their way. This is mostly because good grades will only provide you with entry into a job or higher education opportunity. It is your knowledge and skills that secure the same for you. Hence, it is vital that we sharpen our minds during our graduation years. Apart from this, you can follow these points here to secure a funded admit.

Work on projects

The best way to secure funding admit is by working on projects and adding them in your portfolio. Everyone work on projects naturally during the final year of graduation. And so, it is important that we work on some personal projects ourselves to stand out from the crowds. Working on projects has these advantages:

  • It gives you thorough knowledge in the field as you learn better with involvement. Projects cast a better image of you than the grades do.
  • Working on projects give a relevant experience before you actually work in the industry.

For instance, let’s say that you are applying for the CFD engineer position mentioned here:

You can see here that importance is given to specialization and experience than grades. And by experience, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you must have worked somewhere. If you worked on relevant projects, it counts as experience too.

You might ask, how do I work on projects? What kind of project do I choose? Well, the answer is simple – Choose the field you wish to create a career in and apply your interests there. For example, you might be planning to work as an R&D scientist and your interests include designing or mathematics. So, you can learn design using CAD tools or learn how to solve problems using software like MATLAB and Python.

Contact professors:

Now that you have worked on some projects, the next step will be to send them to the professors of the university you wish to attend. By showing them a copy of your portfolio, you let them know how valuable you are. When a professor comes across a student who has worked on cutting-edge projects, they are most likely to recommend funded admits for such students in the future. Also, by working with them on their projects, we can acquire experience while being a student.

Expand your contact horizon

Now that you have sent your portfolio to a couple of professors, it doesn’t mean that you can sit back and relax for things to work. You must expand your horizons and reach as many people as you find. When you do this, you increase your chances of earning a scholarship. And when professors find your portfolio interesting, they might open up better opportunities in the future as well.

There you have, three points on how to secure a funded admit to universities in the US. Check out the Skill-Lync online courses.
