# Featured Student Projects

Skill-Lync

As stated by Confucius- At Skill-Lync, we believe in Project Based Learning. Our students learn by doing. That is, our students learn by working on multiple projects during the course. This is how we differentiate ourselves from others. Evidently, there are 2 main advantages to this approach.

1. Students tend to learn quickly and understand the concepts very well when working on projects.
2. This gives our students an edge over others while presenting themselves for an interview. They can show these projects to their interviewer and explain how they are well-versed in the particular domain.

Here are some of the brilliant projects our students have done.

## Effect of Mesh Grading Factor in a Backward Step Flow

By Raj Dave

This project is a part of the Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework.

There are two core objectives of the project.

1. To create a backward step geometry by editing the blockMeshDict file.
2. To study the effect of mesh grading on the velocity magnitude plot at a particular location.

## Numerical Solution of Quasi 1D Nozzle Flows – McCormack’s Technique

This project is created as a part of Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework.

In this project, Rohan has employed McCormack’s Technique to simulate 1D Nozzle flow by solving a system of governing equations.

## Pipe Flow Simulation

This project is a part of MATLAB, Python & SolidWorks CFD For Mechanical Engineering Applications

The objective of this project is to find the respective flow velocities for different Reynold’s Number & simulate the flows for the different velocities using SolidWorks CFD.

## Hood Design

By Ugandhar

This project is a part of Automotive Sheet Metal Design Using NX-CAD Coursework.

In this project, the hood (Bonnet) of an actual car is designed using NX-CAD with the given information of Outer & Inner Panel Thickness.

## OpenFOAM Simulation of Flow through a Backward Facing Step

This project is a part of Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework

The goal of this project is to simulate the flow when it passes a backward facing step.

## Internal Geneva Mechanism

##### By Akshay Saxena

This project is a part of Virtual Product Development Program

The objective of this project is to create Driver & Driven Wheels & simulate Internal Geneva Mechanism at velocities between 10 RPM & 20 RPM and finally plot angular displacement & contact forces.

## Simulation of Air Flow Over Airfoil

##### By Harsh Sojitra

This project is a part of MATLAB, Python & SolidWorks CFD For Mechanical Engineering Applications

The objective of this project is to simulate Flow Over NACA Airfoil at various angles of attack.

## Iterative Solution of a System of Linear Equations & Analysis of Spectral Radius of a Matrix

##### By Priyotosh Bairagya

This Project is a part of Introduction to CFD Using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework.

The objective of this project is to analyze various iterative methods such as Gauss-Seidel, Gauss Jacobi & Successive Over-Relaxation Methods in solving the system of linear equations to find the Eigen Values & Spectral Radius.

## Flow Analysis of a Centrifugal Pump

This project is a part of MATLAB, Python & SolidWorks CFD For Mechanical Engineering Applications

In this project, a 3D model of a Centrifugal Pump is designed & Flow Simulation is performed on the Centrifugal Pump.

## Global Maxima of Stalagmite Function

##### By Harish Arroju

This project is a part of Introduction to CFD Using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework.

The objective of this project is to find Global Maxima & Minima of a Stalagmite Function.

## Numerical Investigation of Biogas Fuelled HCCI Engine

This project is a part of the Combustion CFD Specialist Program

In this project, Adhavan has numerically analyzed the effects of Biogas Composition, Equivalence Ratio and Intake Charge Temperature on Combustion Phasing, Combustion Stability and Emissions Characteristics for a Biogas-Fuelled Homogeneous Charge Compression ignition (HCCI) engine

## Flow Past a Cylinder for different Reynold’s Number

##### By Jishnu Handique

This project is a part of Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework

This project simulates the flow past a cylinder both in radial & transverse position.

## Hood Design

##### By Rajesh Deva

This project is a part of Automotive Sheet Metal Design Using NX-CAD Coursework

In this project, Rajesh has done a wonderful job of designing a Hood completely according to the industrial requirements.

##### By Sunag

This project is a part of Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework

The objective of this project is to simulate 2D Heat Conduction in a plate with the heat source at two edges under both steady and unsteady state.

## Fender Design

##### By Rajesh Deva

This project is a part of Automotive Sheet Metal Design Using NX-CAD Coursework

The objective of this project is to design a Fender completely from scratch according to the industry standards. Fender is the part in the automobile that frames the wheel protecting it from sand, mud, and rocks.

## Comparison Between Symmetric & Axi-Symmetric Boundary Condition For Simulation of Flow through Pipe

##### By Jishnu Handique

This project is a part of Introduction to CFD using MATLAB & OpenFOAM Coursework
