Objective :

To Define given mechanical components as electrical components and prepare the catalogue for the same & Prepare the COT tubes and make the catalogue for the same.

1. P Clamp:

They are several types of clips and clamps majorly divided into two.

Standard cable straps and separate clamps.

P clamps are comes under separate clamps.

Clips And Clamps are plastic moulded parts with mounting or snapping features.

Applications of clips and clamps are widely used for harnessing clamping in every area of vehicle to stop.

Function of clips and cramps are used to fix wiring harness bangles by providing position fixing.

P clamp Definition:

Steps:

1. get the cad file.
2. Define geometry properties (entry, exit, base plane, and points)
3. Define part as support _ using Electrical support options.
4. Define entry point and plane.
5. Define exit point and plane.

2. Back sheel :

Retention devices are plastic moulded parts to mount connectors and other harness components. example, connectors months, secondary locks, connector back shells etc.

Functions of a backsheel (rent retention) devices are respective use to provide mechanical fixing locking to the connections and terminals connector. Back shells are used for good appearance and bundle dressing in critical areas.

Back Shell Definition:

Back sheel are optional connector support parts.

Steps:

1. Get the back shell cad file from the required source.
2. Define Geometry parameters – points and planes at connectors end.
3. Define the part as back shell by using command back shell from command bar.
4. Define Back shell connector connection point.
5. Define Back shell bundle connection point.

3. Corrugated tubes :

Protection coverings:

Corrugated tubes, tapes, and Convolutes Sleeves etc are used as protection coverings on wires.

Creating a protection covering steps:

1. Create a covering part 3d part respected to diameter of wire using protection covering command.
2. Create a catalogue for coverings.
3. Add new parts in the catalogue.
4. Apply covering on harness bundle assembly using catalogue.

Note: In Catia v5 there are two options used – corrugated and tapes.
