Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge
Wiring harness Assembly Structure - Clip Definition.
This another important component of the Wiring harness which should be defined before wiring harness routing. Following important parameters required to be defined.
• Entry Point & Plane
• Base Plane
• Exit plane
Get the Clip 3D part,
Define the Geometry
parameters,
Defined part as Support,
Define Entry Point & Plane,
Define Base & Exit plane.

Wiring harness Assembly Structure Backshell Definition.
Backshell Basics
Backshell are plastic molded parts used at wire entry side of connectors either for protection or to improve aesthetics/appearance of harness.
These are not mandatory parts of Wiring harness. Are always optional and driven by Cost.
Defining the Backshell.
Get the Back shell 3D part,
Define the Geometry parameters,
Defined part as Backshell,
Backshell Connection Point,
Define Bundle connection
Point.

Wiring harness Assembly Structure - Protective Covering.
Covering Basics
Corrugated tubes, Convolutes, Sleeves and many other types of coverings are used to protect the wiring harness.
Graphical representation of coverings are applied on bundles. Following are images of different coverings.
Creating Protection Covering
Create Covering 3D part,
Create Catalogue for Coverings,
Add new part in Catalogue,
Apply covering on harness bundles from Catalogue.
Follow the Procedure for Tape covering as well.
