Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge
Task 1 -Clamp
The clamp is an important component in a working harness that has to be defined before use. In defining the clamp, certain parameters such as entry point, plane, base plane, and exit plane has to be considered. In Clamps or clips, the entry point could also be the exit point.
Clamp Definition Steps
- clamp 3D CAD file was downloaded
- geometry parameters defined such as points, entry and exit planes, and the base plane
- part defined as Support
- entry point and plane defined
- base and exit point defined

TASK 2 Backshell
Backshell is plastic molded parts used at the wire entry side of connectors for protection and also to improve appearance.
To define backshell, certain tasks were performed which include:
- 3D CAD file of the backshell was downloaded
- geometry parameters such as points and axis were defined
- backshell part was defined
- backshell connection point defined
- bundle connection point defined.

TASK 3
In this task, corrugated tubes of different parameters were created and then updated on the catalog for future use. In other to perform this task, a command called Define Protection Part was used.
