Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 7 Challenge

WIRING HARNESS FLATENNING ASSEMBLY

AIM:

The main aim in this challenge is to electrically define the given connectors and connect them in the harness assembly and flatten them then represent in the 2D Drawing.

First the connectors are assembled as shown in the below image.

The connectors which are given are :

DT06-08SA:

DT06-2S:

DT06-4S:

DT06-6S:

Now these connectors are electrically defined as connectors and give them bundle and connector connection points which is initiated with point and axis system.

After applied all the bundles and protective covering the harness assembly is shown below:

Protective covering were browsed from slit cot catalog browser:

After assembly of all the connectors is done then before going into the flatenning assembly we have to set some of the parameters in the flatenning assembly:

The parameters were related to 2d and 3d details and about the bundle segments, protective coverings representations:

First we have to go to flattening assembly:

The commands involved in the flattening assembly:

Then the assembly is extracted from assembly to flattening assembly:

The extracted assembly and flatten assembly is shown below:

Now the flattened model is imported into 2D drawing and the bundle is represented with single lines & protective coverings with double lines:

The drawing parameters were changed according to the required parameters and 3d colours.
