TOOL TEST FOR SWITCH PANEL AND COMPONENT

As from the previous challanges the process of starting the model from the model fining to error free meshing is may be same but the approach is different from model to model.As from the basic thing material finnig before the geometry checks is of a common thing.

GEOMETRY CHECKS:

The next basic thing to proceed is to check for geometry errors, that gives a clean geometric model for extracting the mid surface.To obtain a clean geometry the basic thing first to be done is to perform a TOPO operation that binds if any non joined cons and then fixing the geometry by releasing and pasting cons, fixing the faces, cracks extra by manual or auto fix options.The following figure shown below is the difference between the model before and after the geometry checks.

THICKNESS MEASUREMENT:

The measuring of thickness have a important pripority as it helps in extracting the mid surface of the component. The below image shows the measured thicness of the each and every component for which midsurface have been extracted. The weld spot option has most important funtion in this model.

MIDSURFACE EXTRACTION:

As there are many complex shapes like locators, ribs, circular locator with ribs, etc, those should be taken care with a good extent with the help of thickness measured, offset and curves has so much function to do in this model.Locator's mis in this model is almost totally extracted with the help of curves as it doesn't have uniformm thickness. The below image shows the midsurface of the switch panel.

MESHING:

The main theme in this mesh flow generation is to eliminate the errors and make it as zero off elements and as many of triple cons present in this model's midsurface it is quite challanging in eliminating the errors and many extended surfaces were present. As triple cons cannot be removed those.
