WORKING ON A HOOD MODEL USING ANSA PREPROSSESOR TOOL

• GEOMETRY CHECKS: Firstly the whole model is associated with equal length using length parameters then topo operation is performed to stitch the model together then dissembled and should be worked on each of the parts to clear the geometry checks that was basic start with a model. This was done by assigning each part (outer body of the hood, inner body of the hood, latch area, hinge areas) into a separate property ID (PID) and then carried out with checks which is a tool works on clearing the single, double, triple cons where they are necessary and the tool TOPO is the most used tool through the geometry checks. Then the model is processed to extract the mid surface.Basically the component with thickness``<` 6 mm is extracted with mid surface and meshed.
• MIDSURFACE EXTRACTION: After clearing the checks the mid surface of each part is extracted as meshing on the whole model is a time-consuming process, so the mid surface is extracted from the model and then meshed then it is reflected the total hood model, so after extracting the hood model for each part they must be assigned to respected property id to avoid difficulties in meshing.
• MESHING: Basically this was the process which requires better patience, so the extracted each of the mid surfaces should be given with the quality criteria (aspect ratio, skewness, min, max length, tria%, etc., ) which was the most important property that a model should pass through it while meshing. Before going to mesh the total model should be given the target length between the nodes as per the quality criteria by using parametric options, then after entering to the meshing, it was mandatory to clear all the quality criteria aspects that are achieved by using meshing tool like cut, project cut used to rearrange the geometric lines, thereafter other tools like split, swap, join, reconstruct tools were most helpful one to achieve good mesh flow.
