WIRING HARNESS DESIGN IN CATIA V5

AIM:

To route the following harness layout in Electrical workbench then Make assumption for harness bundle diameters and Use Following connectors as shown in layout diagram.

To Add protective covering on all branches connected to DT06-2S & DT06-4S connectors. Keep end extremity at 30mm from connectors end.

GIVEN CONNECTOR DATA:

• DT06-4S
• DT06-6S
• DT06-2S
• DT06-08SA

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

• Create midpoint on the contact face which will be normal to wire bundle insertion.
• Create Axis System with respect to the point which we have created and defining the axis direction.

BUNDLE CONNECTION POINT:

• This point is located at center of the bundle segment side or wire entry side. This is the point where bundle segment or wire point end when get routed to a connector. This point is known as Bundle Connection Point.

SWITCH TO 'ELECTRIC PART DESIGN'

• Define the part as connector in CATIA, give no. of termination as 8 because we have 8 entry points for wire.
• Define Bundle connection point.
• Define connector connection point.

ARRANGING THE CONNECTORS BY FOLLOWING THE LAYOUT

• By using the snap and manipulation command arrange the connectors into the desire position.

CREATING MULTI-BRANCHING TO THE CONNECTORS

CREATING A PROTECTIVE COVERING

• From the saved catalogue file here SIT_COT_20mm and SIT_COT_15mm cot tubes are used.
