Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

Steps:

1.Define electrical properties for connectors.

2.File -> New product (Name- Assy wiring harness context) ->Save.

Right click on Assy wiring harness context-> Component ->New product ->Name-Assy geometrical bundle->

Save.

Right click on Assy geometrical bundle -> Component ->New product -> Name- Electrical bundle circuit.

Right click on above three files ->Properities-> name as below -> same for all the three files names as per product.

3.Right click on Assy_geometrical_bundle -> product1.1 object->open in new window.

Click on Existing component command -> import the electrically defined components.

Click on geometrical bundle icon -> then on assy geometrical bundle to define it as electrical.

save and move to Assy wiring harness context.

4.Switch to (Equipment & systems ->Electrical harness descipline) Electrical harness assembly -> arrange parts asthetically.

5.Click on branch definition for routing,define diameter of bundle & bend radius should be 1.4 times of the diameter of bundle.slack can be defined as per requirement.

6.Click on route definition,select components & mange tangents as per requirement.click apply -> OK.

7.To add branch point click on ->ADD BRANCH POINT ->click on branch & chose the location of point as per length or ratio requirement.

Define buldle from branch point to connector by using earlier processes.give slack to avoid error.

Follow the same procedure to complete the bundle.

8. to Add protective covering click on Protective covering-> Select insulation from catalog

Set start & end extremity for bare end of insulation.

follow the same process to complete the insulation as per bundle diameter.
