Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge

Each of the parts were downloaded from the website and opened in part design workbench to add points and axis systems corresponding to their respective connections as further elaborated below. It was also noted from the information provided from the website that Deutsch DT06 – 08SA is not compatible with Tyco 174357-2

1 Deutsch DT06 – 08SA

• A point was created for the bundle connection.
• Both point and axis system was created for the connector connection.
• The part was then opened in electrical part design.
• It was defined as a connector.
• Then the connection properties for the connector and bundle connections were applied.

2 Tyco 174357-2

• A point was created for the bundle connection.
• Both point and axis system was created for the connector connection and cavity connection of the mounting clip.
• The part was then opened in electrical part design.
• It was defined as a connector.
• Then the connection properties for the connector,cavity and bundle connections were applied.

3 Tyco 85229-1

• Both point and axis system was created for the cavity connection for mounting the connector.
• The part was then opened in electrical part design.
• It was defined as a mounting equipment.
• Then the connection properties for the cavity connections were applied.
