Master Section Development

Development of 3D model by following the master section of Pillar cover
Master Section:

During the period of the vehicle concept design, the evaluation of master section performance mostly depends on reference vehicle data and the experience of structural design engineers.

Master sections working in the stage of Feasibility check and concept validation.

Master sections help you to decide the feasibility, the clearance, the packaging, and the fixation strategy of a component before working it on a 3D model.

  • Create a 3D from the master section
  • Create B side features
  • Ribs 50mm apart from depth other to the depth of B pillar
  • Positioning pins (Follow master section)
  • For wall thickness refer master section
Class A Surface

From the master section reference, the wall thickness of the component is 2mm

Create a tooling axis for the component

Instead of working for the whole class A, we can found the tooling axis in B side features

Performed draft analysis to the Class A Surface

Class B Surface

The offset distance between Class A & B is 2mm.
