Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

AIM:

  • To create the Door Trim Lower Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
  • To create the Heat Stakes and the locators considering the design rules mentioned in the video for the door applique.

PROCEDURE:

  • Given CLASS A Surface:

  • Creation of Tooling Axis:

Extract the surface and define a point, then create the tooling axis.

  • Creation of CLASS B Surface:

Offset the given class A surface and fill the patches by using extract , extrapolate and trim option

By fill option fill the patches with the extract lines created

And finally the class b surface is given below:

  • Creation of CLASS C Surface:

Sweep the boundary to make class c surface

The final CLASS C Surface of thickness 2.5mm

  • Creation of Heat Stakes and the locators:

  • various orientations (Isometric, Front, Side, and Top View):

Draft Analysis:

RESULT:

Create the Plastic design and attached the Engineering features and generated the Draft Analysis for the given Door Applique Class A model
