Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

AIM: To create Plastic design and attach the Engineering features and generate the Draft Analysis for the given Door Trim Lower Class A model.

Tooling Axis Creation

Tooling direction defines movement of mould part and possibilities of plastic part to come-out from mold part.

Create a point using surface and create a line using point direction.

Creation of Class-B

extracting the class-A surface without the fillets and then trimming and extrapolating them to join them, and after that offset the surface to 2.5 mm thickness which forms as the Class - B surface.

Check boundary and fill the gaps with the help of Multi-section surfac and blend.

join the surface to make them as a single surface.

Create Class-C Surface

Extract the Boundary of Class A by Extract option and Using Sweep option create the Class C surface.

Create the C surface for 2 boundaries separately.

After creating the C surface, join the Class A and Class C surface by Join option and then trim it with the B surface.

In Part Design, fill the surface body with the solid using Close surface.

Create a plane on the points which was given with Class-A surface and then create the Heat Stakes.

Give Draft defination for 0.5deg

Pad the ribs for 15mm and define the thikness for 1mm.

Now create a 4 way Locator at below the center by creating a sketch and do the same process of Padding,Drafting,Chamfering and Filleting.

By Boolean operation,Unitrim the Locators with the Solid body of Door Applique by selecting the faces to keep.

Give draft to the locator of 0.5deg

Apply Chamfer to the edges.

Give fillet to the whole body.

Apply the Draft Analysis

RESULT:

Create the Plastic design and attached the Engineering features and generated the Draft Analysis for the given Door Trim lower Plastic component Class A model.
