Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features
1. Creation of Tooling axis:
On extracting a surface, and creating a point at zero location and a line normal to the surface is created as a tooling axis.
2. Draft Analysis on a Class A Surface:

3. Creating Class B Surface :
The Class B Surface can be created by extracting the surfaces separately, untrimmed them, and making offset to the thickness of the component.
Trimming them back by adding necessary extrapolation to the surfaces. we get the class B Surface.

4. Creation of Class C Surface:
The boundaries of Class A are extracted separately to the need and are swept with the nominal draft angle of 3deg.

Finally, class A, B, and C surfaces are trimmed and joined to have a closed surface which is then made into a solid.
5. Creation of Locators and Heat Stakes:
Locators are used to arrest the degrees of freedom of the product and to determining the location of assembly.
The thickness of locators is the same as the design rules of rib.
And Heat Stakes are used for the final installation of the part these are melted and used in the joining process.

6. Creation of clearance in Counterpart:
The clearance value for locators is a minimum of 0.1mm and for heat stakes, they are 0.5mm.

7. Draft analysis on Final component:
